Why did I choose Lagree Fitness as a trainer and a client?
Longevity. This was a revolutionary workout I could do not only for the rest of my life, but also in ALL seasons of life. Also...the core workout is unlike any other workout.
Stepping foot – as if it were my first day in school – into my first Lagree Fitness class in April 2014, I hadn't anticipated how my life would be redirected in such a powerful way. Upon attending that first class, I was under the impression I would be attending another Pilates session, as I had recently started to incorporate classical Pilates to compliment all of my HIIT training.
Within the first wheelbarrow of class, I immediately knew this method was something different, something more unique than I had ever tried before. I spent the whole class connecting with my body in a different way; feeling muscles work that I had never worked before; feeling the absence of joint pain was intriguing – I needed to incorporate this workout moving forward.
This method prides itself on being high-intensity and low-impact, which will allow me to pursue this workout for the rest of my life. I've had knee and hip issues from running, dancing, and strength training; Lagree allows me to work through these injuries while strengthening my hips and glutes, thus allowing me to pursue those other activities more responsibly and with a lower degree of risk. Equally important, Lagree was safe and effective for my body as it went through the changes that come along with pregnancy and post-partum recovery.
The core work on the Megaformer & Microformer is incomparable to any other workout I've tried. Due to the resistance and versatility of the machines, your core is constantly engaged in a combination of resistance and power not matter what move you're in. (In other words, no more time spend doing less-than-effective sit-ups.) You'll hear more feedback about the core work in Lagree than anything else: "That was so challenging in the best way" or "I've never felt my core activate like it does in Lagree" or "I feel muscles I've never felt before!" Safe, effective core work – not just ab work – is crucial to our bodies as we age.
These are just some of the reasons why I love this method and will continue to stick with it for the rest of my life. For those of you willing to try it, I know you'll feel the same.
